If I had to choose one color to be my absolute favorite, I think it would be navy. It's a tough question to answer but it's the color I find myself gravitating to more often than not, in home decor and in clothes. It's such a dramatic neutral – in a good way of course. Navy home decor gives you that pop of fresh, bold color where you need it. There's not one room in your house you can't make this color work! Here's some ideas and inspiration in case you are color crushing on navy home decor like I am.
Hello, navy cabinets? I've seen this everywhere and it looks amazing most of the time. It looks really great as a pop of color on your island. And navy cabinets seem to go with many different types and colors of hardware. Brass and navy look especially good together. I really really love the look of navy with wood together – like that open shelving in the photo below.
It's easy to bring navy into your living rooms. You can paint an accent wall or just throw in a few navy pillows to get the effect. I really love our navy rug in our living room. With two kids in the house – you can barely notice any stains! You can never go wrong with a navy couch either. It's a classic color and unlike white – is very easy to maintain.
Here's our pillows for reference:
For some reason, wallpaper in a dining room is so elegant to me. I was really drawn to this photo. Overall the room is beautiful, but that wallpaper – swoon! Did you notice the brass and navy here again? 🙂
Wallpapered powder rooms and bathrooms are quite the trend these days. And choosing a navy patterned wallpaper is no exception. Look how great these look? I'm in LOVE with that navy grasscloth! If you are not up for wallpaper, than a navy vanity can look just as good.
Navy can add such drama and elegance to your bedrooms. Don't be too scared to use navy here! Pair it with orange in a boys room, pair it with white in a girls room. You can always go with an accent wall if you are thinking it would be too dark. Or, just bring in navy through your furniture and accessories. Navy bedding can be chic or how about a navy bed? Check out that Navy Rug too –
We painted our office Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore. Actually – it was my husband's idea. It's a small room but we went with it. The navy paint gives the room a masculine, moody type vibe. It's actually very relaxing in a way. I do love a white and bright with gold accents it suits us just fine for now. And it's something different. Unfortunately, I don't have a great picture of it because it's in the basement and t's been so dark out lately (cloudy). And it looks too yellow in the picture with the lights on! So, here's a photo of something similar until I can get my photography act in shape over here. This office is also Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore.
