Hey Guys! Wow is September going by fast or what? We need to get to a pumpkin patch stat! I recently posted about an easy DIY rustic fall wreath. (click HERE if you missed it). It’s definitely put me in a rustic mood and I’ve had modern rustic bathrooms on my mind. Going through this renovation process has me thinking how we would redesign everything. I’m drawn more and more to a simple, bright & airy aesthetic, but with lots of texture and rustic accents. So what is modern rustic and how do you achieve that look? It is achieved when you have a room with a modern feel to it combined with natural elements, weathered furniture, fixtures and eclectic accents. It brings warmth and uniqueness to a room – it is not cold, contemporary living. It is not shabby chic. Think marble counters with wood floors, wicker furniture with unique modern lighting, a new soaker tub with wood paneled ceilings. It’s a good mix of old and new. It’s usually open floor plans with a minimal design so the rustic accents can really shine. Here are some great photos and inspiration of modern rustic bathrooms.
I just love how a rustic vanity can add so much character to a new bathroom. It brings in so much warmth, don’t you think?
Or how about adding some wood planked walls on one side of your bathroom? This really helps break up all the white in this bathroom.
This might be one of my favorite bathrooms ever. The paneled walls, the hardwood floors, those gorgeous vanities! Just dreamy. And I love that vintage rug. It keeps it all very light.
This one is different. This bathroom definitely has a modern rustic feel with the shiplap walls and those wooden vanities. I always wanted a makeup station like that too.
In this bathroom, everything is pretty modern except for the ceiling. The ceilings look pretty high in here so it doesn’t make the space feel smaller, but it does add a cozy feel to an otherwise neutral bathroom.
Pottery Barn can really do no wrong. I’ve been eyeing up this vanity for a long time. So much storage!I love this rustic modern bathroom so much and unfortunately I couldn’t find the original source. The tiled wall adds a spark of interest, but really it’s the rattan and jute accessories that shine in this space. Don’t forget about bringing in those textured accents!
Can you picture yourself in that tub?? My favorite part of this whole room though? Those towel hooks with the striped bath towel. Because I’m weird like that. 🙂
How cute is this? This shows you that even in a smaller bathroom, such as a powder room, you can add rustic elements. That cow towel over the farmhouse sink is so fitting.
This space has been pretty popular over the inter-webs. And for good reason! I love how they matched the wood tones on the ladder and vanity. And that mirror – yes please!!!
I love this one for it’s simplicity. I’m such a sucker for subway tiles. They are so classic and they usually don’t cost a fortune. This room needs a little rug though! Am I right?
This space is pretty darn rustic. But the countertops and fixtures are definitely modern. I love how you can bring in so much character with an older dresser turned vanity. Interesting light fixture too!
Aren’t these modern rustic bathrooms gorgeous?
