Hey Guys! Fall is my absolute favorite time of year. It doesn’t really feel like Fall to me until the air is crisp, the trees are changing colors and I have a boat load of pumpkins to set out around the house. Well, check all those off the list because to me, Fall has finally arrived. I decided to snap a few photos of fall around here so you could see our fall home decor. If you’ve been a reader, you know my style is pretty simple and easy. I don’t have many fall “decorations” to put out (or store away for that matter). I mostly rely on mother nature to provide those for me – like mums, greenery, pumpkins and fresh fall fruit (yes even fruit can be beautiful). I’m calling this my simple fall home tour because there is not much to it but it still feels warm and cozy at the same time. I’m so happy you’re here – let’s start around back which is our favorite place to hang out.
Our back deck is still filled with leftover summer plants. I’ve also been adding in some new ones as well. Leaves are falling from our dogwood tree now and they make the best decor!
We love to have our coffee out here. A rattan tray keeps everything neatly coralled for us.
I still have some of my summer pillows out but they will be going in soon because the rainy season is right around the corner.
My Autumn Joy yarrow is just starting to turn it’s beautiful shade of maroon/pink. I also planted a few mums as well.
More yarrow and a Bobo hydrangea. My Bobo is just a baby so it needs to get a little more settled there (see those yellow leaves?) These terra-cotta pots are so fall to me. They age so beautifully.
I love pansies and winter cabbage. Here I planted them both!
Our lantern surrounded by pumpkins looks dreamy at night. We turn on the overhead lights too. On a crisp night with a fire going in the chiminea – it’s heaven!
We just installed these cute little rustic planters on our fence this past summer. I had some impatiens in there because we don’t get a ton of sun right at that spot but to my disappointment they never really flowered. They fit in a little more now since they look kinda fallish. That’s creeping jenny spilling over the sides. I can’t get enough of it. It adds a very romantic touch to any planter.
Here’s a close up of it. I have it planted everywhere. It seems to do best with just a little sun though – if it gets too much it can get crispy and brown. Just enough sun will bring out the yellow flowers though and it will turn a shade of real lime green. Since this is a bit shady here, it’s more of an evergreen color. Pretty, isn’t it?
It’s getting a little chilly out here. Let’s head inside, shall we? 🙂
Right off our back deck is our kitchen. It’s small but it’s cozy. We have big plans to open it up with our upcoming renovation. I can’t wait to get rid of that backsplash. It’s just too busy for my taste. It seems kind of dated to me. I like a simple subway tile. 🙂 Anyways – back to the fall tour. Since we use every square inch of our counterspace I keep kitchen decor pretty minimal. A cute little pumpkin and some greens from the backyard. Sometimes I put some colorful flowers here as well.
I also like a candle and a seasonal tea towel. You can never have too many tea towels, right?
Moving on to our dining room. Here you can get a peek at our beverage area through the mirror! This was an IKEA island that was left here from the previous owners. They had it in the laundry room so we moved it up here because we needed more counter and storage space. I bought some rustic baskets from World Market go underneath. We hung those wood shelves this past year as well. It’s a great place to grab your coffee in the morning or your wine at night. 🙂
I keep these ‘Luminara’ candles in here all year and just change out the vase filler for the different seasons. Right now it’s black pebbles. I have the candles on a remote so I can easily turn them on and off. Once those candles are in there, I never have to take them out until I’m ready to change them out for another season again. These faux leaves are from Crate and Barrel. I just fell in love with the color.
This pumpkin and the faux leaves are a few of the fall decorations I have on hand every year. I just love this little gold pumpkin. Are you guys big Ina Garten fans too? She makes cooking and entertaining feel effortless. And I’ll take her gorgeous Hamptons home any day.
Our kitchen is open to our dining room which is open to our living room. It’s a great layout, but overall it’s all small. Each room is small and can be easily overwhelmed if I’m not careful. We have this gorgeous picture window in our living room with a view of our maple. It’s soon going to change to the most beautiful, rich red color. It’s like a painting and it’s one of my favorite things about our house. (It’s also the perfect window to display our christmas tree!) I have indigo velvet pillows out right now. I have new fabric on the way and I’m making some new pillows for our couch. I’ll be posting more on that soon.
Our dining table is small. I don’t like to crowd it with too many things. A few small pumpkins and rustic wooden bowl of apples is all we need right now.
Our mantle gets a fall bead garland and some tiny pumpkins. I also add in a few of my gold tea candle holders.
Well, that pretty much concludes our fall home tour. I hope you guys enjoyed it and thank you so much for stopping by!
