I thought it was about time I show you guys our home! Or at least a little bit more than I have.  This is not the official before and after of our renovation.  As I type this, they are still hammering away on some things in our home.  So, it’s just not ready quite yet!

However, I wanted to show you our Christmas touches this year.  I kept it very simple and natural – bringing lots of earthy elements into our home this year.

I didn’t buy anything for our Christmas decor this year – in fact, I did the complete opposite!  I donated a lot of it away.  I kept one Christmas pillow and our special Christmas ornaments and that was it.  Most of our decor this year is handmade or natural.  And I truly love the whimsical, organic feel.

I’ll add links to the bottom of this post for all the handmade projects I used to complete our Christmas Decorations this year.  I hope you enjoy!

Welcome to Our Craftsman Home!

Hang a few bells on your wreaths – they add such a rustic touch.
What do you think of our new floors? šŸ™‚
Still missing some doorknobs!  LOL.  This is another handmade Christmas wreath by the way.  Tutorial for these wreaths coming soon.
Part of our renovation was making a log area which you can see on the left hand side there. We just ordered more birch logs so the idea is to fill that all the way up to the top.
And the stockings were hung by the chimney with …. care and command hooks. šŸ™‚
Another Handmade wreath!  I used a lot of white satin ribbon this year to tie everything together (no pun intended).
I do love my beeswax and scented candles! I linked the natural wood bead garland DIY below.
Some pinecones picked up on a walk and some evergreens thrown in are a natural and earthy way to fill your trays and dishes this holiday season.
Another change we made was taking our TV mount off which hung above our fireplace. It’s now on the opposite wall.  That cinnamon stick candle holder is another DIY linked below.
Who says candlesticks have to be on the mantel?Ā  This year, I moved them to our Kitchen.
This is a simple evergreen wreath with our black vase in the middle.  The black vase was bought on clearance at Target!
Our new Sub Zero Refrigerator and pantry area.
Our Shoe Bench area with the only Christmas pillow I saved – it’s that red ticking stripe fabric in the back there.  The other is a simple drop cloth lumbar pillow I made.  That shoe bin lifts up and holds TONS of shoes.
Here’s an easy way to add some Christmas color – just put a bunch of apples and mandarins in a pretty dish or tray.  Lay them on top of a bed of evergreens.  Instant Christmas!

Do you guys usually go all out for Christmas? Or do you keep it simple? I’d love to know your traditions!

  1. This looks amazing! I love all the natural decor. I think Iā€™m going to have to try adding some greens to my kitchen canisters. What a great idea!
