A list of fun things to do at home that you might not have thought of. All the options listed here can be shipped to your door – no need to leave!
It’s been a little over a month here in Seattle since we’ve been on lockdown. Aside from the occasional trips to the grocery store and pharmacy, we’ve been at home.
It’s hard to know for sure when life will get back to normal, but I’m trying to be grateful for our health and make the best of things during this time of uncertainty.
Maybe you’ve finished binge-watching all the shows. And took every virtual museum tour you could. What else can we do? Lots!
Fun things to do at Home
I thought it might be fun to put together a list of things you guys can do when you’re stuck at home. I find that immersing myself in an enjoyable activity is a good way to pass the time.
Let’s dive right in!
Take an Online Class.
Creative Live and Bluprint are two of my favorite sites for learning a new skill or craft. Bluprint has some amazing deals at the time of writing this post – you can even score some free classes. I’ve taken sewing classes on Bluprint and business classes on Creative Live – but each one has interests for everyone.
Get Some Happy Deliveries.
I’ve recently learned about Cratejoy and boy am I glad I did. They have LITERALLY every subscription box you could ever want. There is something for women, men, kids, and even pets.
When it’s hard to go out to find things to do, why not sign up to get something happy delivered to you? It’s just the self-care you might need right now. Need hints? Try the bestseller TheraBox!
Of course, you knew I was going to say this at some point. There are so many great macrame tutorials on my site!
Paint a Room with Clare.
You may have more time to redecorate. Yay!
The only problem?
It may be kind of tough (and not really permitted) to go out to pick up paint and supplies right now.
But wait – you can get paint samples, paint, and all the supplies you need through Clare.
I’ve ordered through them before and the samples are amazing! They are sticky and you just stick them right to the wall! You can also remove and stick again on another wall. Amazing!
They’ll even help you pick a paint color. Go here to learn more about them.
Make Soy Candles.
You can get all the materials you need to make soy candles from Amazon and have them delivered to your door.
Make some beautiful candles to drop off (from a safe distance) to a friend or neighbor and tell them you’re thinking about them.
You may have read this and been like – ick! I’m not going to clean!
But this is a good time to really deep clean your home. Clean your windows, clean your oven racks until they’re sparkling or go room by room and declutter. When the world opens back up, you can go out and enjoy! Your house will already be clean.
Pen a Note to a Friend.
We don’t really get love notes anymore. It’s kind of sad. There is something so…well…technical and impersonal about getting an email.
Pick up some gorgeous stationery and get writing! The receiver will be so thankful and happily surprised. And who knows, you might just get one back in the mail!
Do a Puzzle or Play a Game.
My daughter and I love to play Uno. But we especially love doing puzzles. We can sit there for hours finishing up a puzzle. It’s hard to pull yourself away. If the days feel long, this is a great way to pass the time.
This store has the best selection of puzzles in my opinion.
We have been doing plenty of this at our home! Pick a favorite cookbook or order a new one and get cooking! Groceries can be delivered or just add the ingredients to your weekly shopping lists.
Read a New Magazine.
I LOVE reading home magazines. Here is a great selection and you can get them in the digital versions to keep down the paper clutter in your home. For kids, I’m a huge fan of this magazine. If you have trouble getting your kids to read, try this magazine instead. It might just be the things they need!
That about wraps it up! If I think of any more fun ideas, I’ll be sure to add them to this list. Or I’d love to hear from you! Tell me if you have any ideas that would be awesome for this list!
Stay safe, stay healthy,
