How was Halloween? My kids sure ended up with a lot of candy – check out their loot below.
I was hoping to get another renovation post update out to you all this week. Unfortunately, it’s been kind of rainy here (which means muddy and I don’t want to step in our house), our cabinets were slightly delayed and we ended up with another “surprise” that we have to fix. So that is setting us back a little bit now. Everyone tells you that renovating a home is not easy and will end up costing you much more and taking up much more of your time than you ever anticipated. I can now sadly confirm these statements to be true. I was hoping by this time around we would be at the “fun stage”, where everything finally comes together. Unfortunately, it’s been the exact opposite. Really stressful and nothing seems to be going right. But I refuse to focus on the negatives. I am only looking at the positives. I am very grateful we had this opportunity to renovate. We still have a roof over our heads, food in our fridge, a healthy family and lots of love in our hearts.
And that makes us rich by any standard.
I want to give a little shout out to my husband. He is the one who has really taken on the brunt of this renovation. He has handled the meetings with contractors, he has been the one going through time sheets and contracts with a fine tooth comb, he is the one managing the day the day minutia that goes along with fixing up a home. All while working a full time job. He’s been truly amazing! I am so grateful to have him in my life. I told him that after all this work – we are never ever, ever leaving this house! And I’m pretty sure he agrees with me.
Have a great weekend.
