Happy Monday everyone! We are back from our mini family getaway and I can’t wait to give you a tour of this quaint town. I have to tell you though that we had to stop three times to check that I packed everything! And we had to return to the house once to get dog food. So I made up this printable packing list that you can print out and check off each item as you pack it. I thought of just about everything and I will definitely be using this in the future! I hope this helps you too.

And now, on to this little town tour!
So my family and I went to Seabrook, Wa!
It’s a very charming coastal town about 2.5 hours from Seattle.
It’s a fairly new town and they are still building a ton of homes and adding more retail space. But it is so quaint and a photographer’s dream! Even Martha Stewart is a fan.
We were there over the 4th and mostly everyone had their home decked out with patriotic decorations, like these flags and banners.
The community was designed with a small town feel – houses are close together and yards are small – meant to encourage neighbors to mingle and walk around town.
They also had a very cute little town hall located in the center of town.
I was very impressed with the gardens in the community.
Each homeowner seemed to have a green thumb!
I also loved the beach vibe of the homes. A collection of birdhouses and colorful fish adorned many of the homes in true coastal style. I love the idea of using beachy elements as decor. It looks so natural and not forced. And there were outdoor cafe lights strung everywhere. You can imagine how dreamy this looked!
The community was so interesting because each home was different. There were homes with blue siding…
Cedar Shake homes…
And some of them were lucky enough to have a killer beach view!
A lot of the homes were also lined with beautiful oyster shells instead of rocks or grass. How cool is that?
Oh yes – and they have horses! And they are super friendly horses too. They came right up to us and let us pet them. 🙂
Here are some other amenities that we enjoyed –
- Dog Park
- Heated Indoor Pool and Spa
- Basketball and Tennis Court
- Walking Trails
- Weekend Farmer’s Market and Concerts
There is not too much retail there right now. But they do have an ice cream store, a pizza shop, a bar/restaurant, a coffee shop, a home store (yes!) etc. Each retail space has that coastal, small town vibe going on.
You just HAVE to go in when stores look like this…
It’s also a very dog friendly town! When you check into your rental they give you dog treats from the local pet shop. A lot of the shops allow you to bring your dog in. And the beach is dog friendly too.
And yes, my dog Sasha loves the beach apparently…
The only cons for us were the weather and construction noise. One day was really nice but most days were cloudy and cold (for a beach town). We did take advantage of the indoor pool though, which was a nice feature. Even though the weather was a bit cold, it didn’t prevent us from running around the beach anyways. The beaches there are wide. Like it takes you a while just to reach the water. Beautiful though!
Well – I really hope you guys enjoyed this little mini tour of Seabrook. I found so much inspiration in this little town. Will we be back? I think someday we will. The kids really loved it – in fact, my daughter Hannah cried when we had to leave. But what kid wouldn’t love running around a beach and swimming in a heated indoor pool for a week straight? 🙂
And don’t forget to download your Printable Packing List so you don’t have to pull over three times like we did.
I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July! I’ll talk to you all soon.
