Rattan is a popular choice for furniture because it is durable and weather-resistant. It comes in many different styles, so you are sure to find one that fits your needs and budget. Keep reading for our recommendations!
What is Rattan?
Rattan is a type of palm that grows in the tropical forests of Africa, Asia, and Australia. It is often used to make furniture because it is strong and flexible. Rattan is a great choice for outdoor furniture because it is durable and weather-resistant.
Cane versus Rattan
When rattan is used to make furniture, it is often called rattan furniture. However, rattan and cane are not the same thing. Rattan is the name of the palm that the furniture is made from, while cane refers to the long, thin stems of the rattan plant. Cane is often used to make rattan furniture, but it can also be used to make wicker furniture. Want to see more cane? Check out these cane beds, cane and rattan bookcases and cane dining chairs.
To keep things even, I’m only including RATTAN infused benches in this post, whether that means rattan legs or a rattan or cane accent or back. No wicker, water hyacinth, seagrass or the like.
If you’ve noticed, rattan is everywhere in home design right now and I’m not mad about it. I’m rattan obsessed. If you want to jump on the rattan trend, a rattan bench is an easy way to get started.
Because benches work for every room. Put one in your entryway, in a hallway, or at the end of your bed. You can even use one in your dining room or at your kitchen table. And, the best part is, no matter what your budget is, there’s a rattan bench out there for you. So go ahead and splurge on the perfect one for your home. You won’t regret it.
