Here at DecorHint, we are huge fans of getting the look for less. We don’t think we need to shell out thousands of dollars to have a beautiful home. My latest home find for you: cheap bar stools.
Cheap Bar Stools – The Roundup
These counter stools are all mostly under $100. In fact, we own one of the cheapest barstools on this list. So, I can tell you from experience that you definitely don’t need to spend a lot to have a nice-looking bar stool.
One thing to note before you shop: Do you need a bar stool or a counter stool? There is a difference, but only in the height. A standard countertop or kitchen island is 36 inches high from the floor, so generally, a counter stool between 25 and 28 inches is sufficient.
On the other hand, if you have a bar in your home or even a media/game room, you might want to consider a taller bar stool. Before purchasing, measure the space so you know for sure what size is best!
Now – check out our top picks below for the best cheap bar stools.
Nathan James
I just came across this brand and am super impressed—it offers really pretty furniture at budget-friendly prices. They have a whole selection of bar height and counter stools, whether you want a cushion or a swivel bar stool, and they’re just stylish.
Haobo Home Industrial Metal Bar Stools
One of the most popular picks for industrial/farmhouse stools on Amazon. Why? They are easy on the wallet, the metal frame and removable back provide support and stability, and they come in 8 different color choices. Stellar reviews.
Vintage Adjustable Bar Stool
If you need a stool that is more vintage-looking but adjustable and swivel, this one from Amazon has all three rolled up into one and has great reviews to boot.
Alexander Urban Bar Stools
Now, let’s look at these modern faux leather beauties from Amazon. This is SET OF 4, so each chair will run you well under $100. Reviews state that although assembly is a bit of a pain – these bar stools are comfortable (that built-in footrest is key), stylish, and well worth the price paid.
Target Bowden Faux Leather Stool
If you are looking for a similar chair, look no further than this Set of 3 bar faux leather bar stools from Project 62 at Target.
Walmart Howard Stools
For all the industrial style lovers out there, this set of 4 modern metal frame bar stools is for you. Bonus – these come pre-assembled and are stackable with a space-saving design. These stools are powder coated, scratch-resistant, and come in 4 colors. Sturdy, durable, and cheap!
Winsome Satori Stool
Next up, we have our kitchen stools! If you like a simplistic shaker-style design, you will love these basic saddle-seat wood stools. We have had them for over two years, and my kids jump on and off them daily. In fact, I’m writing this article from one of the stools as we speak!
These stools were very easy to assemble. While they are not as comfortable as one of the faux leather options listed above, they are comfy enough and easy to keep clean. We have the Walnut Color, and these also come in Natural and Black.
The only cons would be that after two years of heavy, daily use, the footrest bars are a bit loose (but not broken), and some of the wood buttons that hide the screws popped off (but you still can’t see the screws, really). For under $50 a stool – you can’t go wrong! These tend to sell out quickly, and if they do, they also sell them on Walmart and Home Depot.
Boraam Sonoma Stool
While you are on Amazon – here’s a similar stool worth checking out with great reviews.
Target Halifax Farmhouse Stools
If you love this look – I found a really beautiful lookalike version on Target. These from Threshold feature curved saddle seats for extra comfort and come in three different colors.
Rivet Counter Height Stool
I also spotted these saddle seat bar stools on Amazon, and they are beautiful! If you love that Scandi style, these birch stools, natural or black, will fit the bill. Plus, they are pretty affordable and look a lot more expensive than they are. Amazing reviews, too!
Walmart Mainstays Stools
If you want a modern, lightweight wood stool, you might like these round rubberwood stools from Walmart. You won’t believe the price! They feature a powder-coated base with a round rubberwood seat in natural. I could see these in a kid’s playroom or a beach house. I love the minimal look!
Project 62 Woven Counter Height Bar Stools
Starting with these beautiful woven faux leather metal chairs from Project 62 at Target, they have a back, so you have a bit more comfort right there! The metal legs keep these chairs sleek-looking and durable, and the faux leather seat will be easy to keep clean while adding a stylish look to your room. They also come in three different colors.
Kaysville Curved
I am introducing my absolute favorite of this bunch – these shaker-style curved back bar stools from Studio McGee at Target. Featuring black, natural, or walnut colors, these chairs look so much more expensive than they are and have over 100 four-star reviews.
Copley Upholstered
Last but certainly not least, these upholstered bar stools by Project 62. These stools feature metal legs that look like wood, so you get the durability and still get that wood look you want. They also come in over 10 different upholstery fabric colors for a perfect match to your existing decor. The foam seating is padded and comfy; you can definitely sit here for a while.
AllModern Dispatch at Wayfair
If you like Scandi style and affordability, the AllModern Dispatch stools are for you! They feature four different-colored mango wood choices, a sleek metal frame, and a price tag of under $100.
