Welcome to Christmas at our house! I wanted to share a few peeks at our holiday decor this year.
I typically go hog wild on Christmas decorating once November comes around, but this year, I really took my time. I decorated each room slowly, thoughtfully, and with care.
Our new queen flock tree is so pretty on its own that I knew I didn’t need many ornaments. I added some simple red berries and these little red cardinals, which clip onto branches.
These cardinals are a touching tribute to my Dad. As you may know, I lost my Dad last year, and I’m always trying to find ways to honor him around our home. For the tree skirt, I took two sheepskin throws and wrapped them around the base.
The rest of this room was decorated with wreaths, garlands, and twinkling lights. My kids love putting Mr. Santa on his corner chair for the season.
I added more lighted garlands and a trio of gold bells to our lounge space. My grandmother’s ceramic tree sits on our card table—hopefully, a Christmas puzzle will be on there soon, too!
I couldn’t wait to decorate our new entryway cabinet, which I painted reddish maroon this year. The color seemed perfect for the season! I added some garlands, lights, and a few Christmas knickknacks—like our Nutcracker and this fat Santa figurine I found at a thrift store.
Our breakfast nook area usually gets the star treatment! But this year, I kept things pretty simple – a garland on our storage cabinet with cluster fairy lights and a mini-lighted tree for the corner.
I also love to use plaid pashminas as “decor,” which I draped here on the chair. These scarves inject color and seasonal vibes into my spaces without breaking the bank! And they are super easy to store for next year.
The mantel decor is also understated this year, with a wreath on our mirror, a garland, and these adorable evergreen flameless taper candles.
I love a more thoughtful, slow approach to decorating. I have a few more projects for this season, so stay tuned! Please peruse our Christmas category for more inspiration and ideas.
