Today, I’m excited to share the latest update in my home – the new wallpaper in my laundry room. I decided to give this often-overlooked space a fresh, new look. Let’s dive into the transformation!

Before the Makeover

Let’s be real: my laundry room walls looked pretty bare. I still love the navy wainscoting, but the white walls on top were plain and uninspiring. It made laundry day even less appealing. Here’s a quick peek at the “before” situation.

It’s not the worst, but it could be better. It needed some character. I ended up switching the rug to this nonslip textured runner, which I love. You can read more about this prior laundry room makeover here.

Choosing the Wallpaper

I’ve always believed that even the most functional spaces can be stylish, so I searched for chic wallpaper that wouldn’t break the bank. I wanted something that would add a bit of charm and character without overwhelming the small space. I’ve always been drawn to small floral pattern wallpaper, but I couldn’t find anything I liked within my budget.

After scouring the internet for a while, I found the perfect pattern on Amazon – a lovely vintage floral with birds. It’s neutral but has some orange and sage green coloring, which perfectly complements the navy wainscoting. Plus – the price was right!

The only downside is that the paper is a bit thin to work with, but it went up beautifully.

The Big Reveal

Ta-da! Just look at that transformation. The new wallpaper has brought so much life and personality to the room. It feels like a completely different space now.

I found these adorable laundry bins on Amazon and love them. They keep those ugly detergent bins out of sight. Decanting is one of my favorite tricks for making spaces look pulled together. It can be functional and cute at the same time.

A while back, we also swapped out all the doorknobs on the first floor with these pretty crystal knobs. It’s amazing how much character a simple change like that can make.

I still have the peg rail that my Dad and I made here. It’s proved to be such a helpful item—we hang all our damp pool towels on it before I wash them.

I’m absolutely thrilled with how my laundry room turned out. It shows that even small changes can make a big impact.

If you’ve been thinking about updating a space in your home, I highly recommend trying wallpaper. It’s a fun and relatively easy way to add some serious style.
